Kids Yoga Teacher
Hi! My name is Melinda. I began practicing yoga when I was 19 whilst studying oriental medicine. I loved it straight away and it has been a constant in my life ever since. I practiced a Japanese style of yoga called Oki-Do for about 15 years then dabbled in Hatha and Iyengar Yoga for some time.
When I met Dee and experienced her vinyasa style of yoga I was hooked. I love Dee’s inspiring style of teaching and her strong and challenging classes. After meeting Dee and coming to PHY I began meditating regularly, undertook The S.M.I.L.E. Program and started to discover that yoga wasn’t just about a physical practice. It was something much deeper.
Yoga has been life changing for me and has given an added richness and meaning to my life I never knew I needed until I had it. I am now much calmer and more present in myself and as a parent I am so much more connected to my children and my role as a mother. I honestly cannot imagine not having yoga in my life anymore.
In 2017, I completed my Teacher Training and this has further ignited my passion for teaching and practicing yoga. I love meeting people and hearing about their journeys and what has brought them to yoga. I am also an avid reader and enjoy playing music in my spare time. I am thrilled to be teaching at power house yoga, it has been a dream come true for me. I truly feel like I am living my dharma – my life’s purpose.
