Hey guys,
My passions in life are skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing and motocross. Over the years I have sustained many injuries and had countless surgeries. I was told by my surgeon that I would never run or ride again which completely shattered me. Stupidly, I believed him and pretty much gave up everything that I loved and ended up gaining an extra 20kgs. Dee dragged me kicking and screaming to my first yoga class because I honestly thought yoga was for girls and not blokes like me. And wasn’t I wrong. Dee promised me she would never speak of yoga again if I just did one class, turned out I started going to more classes than her!!

Within six months of my regular yoga practice, I was able to run again and therefore skateboard again. Within nine months I had lost the 20kgs I had gained over a few years and now my body has never felt better. And then there was the mind stuff… I experienced some pretty tough events in my adult life of which I found hard to deal with. Yoga not only helped me deal with them, but made me a much better person for the experience of those events. I can’t be thankful enough for Dee dragging me to yoga and now it is just part of my everyday routine and part of my life.

My aim is to share my yoga experiences and change the perception that yoga is for girls and get all you blokes involved. What we do is not by any definition physically easy which is what surprised me the most about our style of yoga. My aim is to challenge you blokes on a physical level with a light hearted approach along with our studio offering a space to grow on a higher level within.

If there is one thing you can take away from my experience of yoga, it would be to make yourself a better you!!
